What does certify to the standard means?
The manufacturer (cosmetic products) has complied with the requirements stipulated in the standards in manufacturing and handling of halal cosmetics or personal care products and products which include animal bone, skin and hair as a manufacturing ingredient and shall be verified through site inspection as deemed necessary by the competent authority.

Note: Competent authority is entrusted by the government to carry out specified work according to prescribed requirements.

  • MS 2200-1:2008-Islamic Consumer Goods Part 1: Cosmetic and Personal Care-General Guidelines
    or
  • MS 2200-BAHAGIAN 1:2008-Barang Gunaan Islam-Kosmetik dan Dandanan diri -– Garis Panduan Umum)
    *Part 1- involves practical guidelines and basic requirements for halal cosmetics and personal care industry, trade or business in Malaysia in accordance with Shariah Law.  The standard should be used together with Guidelines of Control of Cosmetics Products in Malaysia and Guidelines on Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practice by National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau

  • MS 2200-2: 2013 – Islamic Consumer Goods Part 2: Usage of animal bone, skin and hair – General guidelines
    or
  • MS 2200-2: 2012 (BM)–BarangGunaan Islam-Bahagian 2: Penggunaan Tulang, Kulit dan Bulu Haiwan – Garis Panduan Umum)
    *Part 2 - involves guidelines on usage of animal bone, skin and hair in consumer products in accordance to the Shariah Law
