Aligned with Article 4 and Annex 3 of The WTO TBT Agreement, the Department of Standards Malaysia (JSM) invites all parties to share feedback or comment on draft MS that covers new, revision, amendment and the withdrawal of MS. All comments received will be reviewed and discussed by the relevant committee under the purview of JSM.

MS ISO 6240:2011, which is identical to ISO 6240:1980, has become outdated following the withdrawal of the international standard by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in October 2016. NSC 04 has agreed to withdraw MS ISO 6240:2011 without replacement, as it is obsolete and no longer aligned with current industry practices in Malaysia.

NSC 18/TC 7 reviewed and proposed for the MS to be withdrawn without replacement as this guidance document is also no longer referenced or utilized by stakeholders as well as the Accreditation Division of JSM has issued supplementary accreditation requirements detailing the accreditation requirements based on the MS ISO 15189 standard.

18 August 2026 NSC 18/TC 11 has reviewed the MS and proposed its withdrawal without replacement, as it have been superseded by an updated version, ISO 11554:2025 and due to no longer referred by local stakeholders & industries.
