The National Accreditation Committee (NAC) is a committee of the Council established under Section 14 of the Standards of Malaysia Act 1996 for advising and assisting the Council on accreditation matters. The Committee shall have defined duties and responsibilities.
The duties of the Committee shall be:
- To provide expert advice to the Council on accreditation and GLP compliance matters;
- To establish Technical Working Group (TWG) when necessary as identified by JSM the purpose of discussing any technical matters, which include the development and reviewing accreditation criteria and GLP compliance criteria;
- To endorse accreditation/GLP compliance criteria, requirements, policies and procedures for the consideration of the Council;
- To review and approve any major or significant amendment of existing accreditation/compliance criteria, requirements, interpretative and policies documents;
- To ensure impartiality of the operations of the JSM's accreditation/compliance monitoring system;
- To ensure a reasonable level of transparency of the accreditation/compliance monitoring system; and
- To perform any other duties as maybe determined or delegated by the Council.
